Pennington Shareholder Julius J. Zschau, receives 2012 Robert C. Scott Memorial Award

ST. PETERSBURG BEACH, FL - Julius J. Zschau was awarded the Robert C. Scott Memorial Award in recognition of his many years of untiring, devoted and invaluable service to the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar at the Section’s Annual Convention in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. While the award is not granted on an annual basis, it is granted when the occasion requires to those Section members who best exemplify the devotion and continued service of the person for whom the Award is named to the Section and its membership.
Mr. Zschau served as the Chairman of the 10,000 member Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section in 2005-2006 and in numerous positions of leadership within the Section over many years. He has been active in drafting legislation to simplify the handling of real estate transactions and has inspired and encouraged many of the younger members of the Section to serve in leadership positions. His service to the legal profession outside the Section includes Chair of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission and service as Chair of the Second District Court of Appeals Judicial Nominating Commission. Mr. Zschau is active in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, an organization that has become the nation's most prestigious honorary organization for practicing real estate lawyers. He is the co-author of a recent article published in the prestigious Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal of the American Bar Association titled “Using Land Trusts to Prevent Small Farm Land Loss”.
