E. Murray Moore, Jr. - 25 Years of Legal Excellence Leading Pennington’s Healthcare Law Team
Shareholder E. Murray Moore, Jr. recently marked his 25th anniversary with the firm and continues to focus his practice on Healthcare Law where he represents and advises physicians, nurses, clinics, ambulatory surgical centers and hospitals regarding various state and federal healthcare law and regulatory issues. As part of his practice, Murray serves as General Counsel of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH), a private, not-for-profit community healthcare system serving a 17-county region in North Florida and South Georgia.
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented numerous challenging issues for healthcare facilities and providers around the globe. Hospitals and healthcare providers everywhere are faced with logistical and resource considerations regarding patient care, ensuring the safety of providers, staff and patients while also ensuring compliance with evolving Federal and State rules and regulations. Murray plays a critical role in advising TMH and Pennington’s other healthcare clients through this trying time. Through Murray’s leadership, the Pennington Healthcare Law team has developed guidelines pertaining to allocation of scarce resources such as hospital beds and ventilators; working with clients on agreements for COVID-19 testing and lab services and advising clients regarding regulatory waivers and requirements implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Murray is an AV Preeminent rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest distinction of the agency’s rating system for professional excellence, ethical standards, and legal ability. A Tallahassee native, Murray has served on the boards of several local nonprofit entities including the Legal Aid Foundation of the Tallahassee Bar Association, Trinity United Methodist Church and Goodwood Museum and Gardens. He currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Maclay School and is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee, Class XII. In his spare time, Murray enjoys fishing and playing tennis.
